Jackup rigs
Jackup rigs are mobile offshore drilling units used primarily for oil and gas exploration. They consist of a floating hull with legs that can be lowered to the seabed, allowing the rig to stand above the water. This design enables drilling in shallow waters, typically up to 400 feet deep.
These rigs are towed to a drilling site and then jacked up above the water using hydraulic systems. Once in position, Jackup rigs provide a stable platform for drilling operations, making them essential for offshore energy production in various regions around the world.
