J.C.J. van Speijk Lighthouse
The J.C.J. van Speijk Lighthouse is located on the coast of Egmond aan Zee, a village in the Netherlands. Built in 1834, it stands at 50 meters tall, making it one of the tallest lighthouses in the country. The lighthouse is named after Jan Cornelis Jacob van Speijk, a Dutch naval officer known for his bravery.
The lighthouse features a distinctive red and white striped design, which helps sailors identify it from a distance. It is still operational today, guiding ships safely along the North Sea. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the coastline from its observation platform.
