József Eötvös
József Eötvös was a Hungarian politician, writer, and physicist born on September 27, 1813. He is best known for his contributions to literature and science, particularly in the field of physics. Eötvös is famous for the Eötvös experiment, which demonstrated the equivalence of inertial and gravitational mass, a key concept in Einstein's theory of relativity.
In addition to his scientific work, Eötvös served as Hungary's Minister of Education and was an advocate for educational reform. He also wrote novels and essays that explored themes of social justice and national identity, making him a significant figure in 19th-century Hungarian literature.
