Izumo-class
The Izumo-class is a class of helicopter carriers operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Designed for anti-submarine warfare and disaster relief, these ships can carry up to 14 helicopters, including the SH-60K maritime patrol helicopter. The class consists of two ships, JS Izumo and JS Kaga, which were commissioned in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
These vessels are equipped with advanced radar and sensor systems, enhancing their operational capabilities. The Izumo-class can also support humanitarian missions and provide a platform for various naval operations, reflecting Japan's commitment to regional security and disaster response.
