Italo-Turkish War
The Italo-Turkish War (1911-1912) was a conflict between the Kingdom of Italy and the Ottoman Empire. Italy aimed to expand its territories in North Africa, particularly targeting the regions of Tripolitania and Cyrenaica, which are part of modern-day Libya. The war began when Italy launched a surprise attack, leading to a series of battles and the eventual capture of key cities.
The conflict marked a significant shift in the balance of power in the Mediterranean. The war concluded with the Treaty of Lausanne in 1912, which recognized Italian control over Libya, further weakening the Ottoman Empire's influence in North Africa.
