Italian Line
The Italian Line, officially known as Italia di Navigazione, was a prominent shipping company founded in 1932. It specialized in passenger and cargo services, primarily operating transatlantic routes between Italy and North America. The company became well-known for its luxurious ocean liners, which offered comfortable travel experiences during the golden age of sea travel.
In the mid-20th century, the Italian Line faced challenges due to changing travel preferences and competition from airlines. Despite these difficulties, it continued to operate until the late 1990s, when it merged with other companies, marking the end of its independent operations in the cruise industry.
