Italian Geography
Italy is a country located in Southern Europe, shaped like a boot. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, France to the northwest, Switzerland to the north, and Austria and Slovenia to the northeast. The country is known for its diverse landscapes, including the Alps in the north, rolling hills in the central regions, and beautiful coastlines along the Adriatic Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea, and Ionian Sea.
Italy is divided into 20 regions, each with its own unique geography and culture. Major rivers like the Po and Tiber flow through the country, while famous lakes such as Lake Como and Lake Garda attract visitors. The Apennine Mountains run down the spine of the country, providing a natural barrier and influencing the climate and agriculture of the regions.
