Ismaili branch
The Ismaili branch is a sect of Shia Islam that originated in the early Islamic period. It emerged from a disagreement over the rightful succession of leadership after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. Ismailis believe that the line of imams, or spiritual leaders, continues through Ismail ibn Jafar, the son of the sixth imam, Jafar al-Sadiq.
Ismailis are known for their emphasis on the interpretation of faith and the importance of knowledge. They have a rich cultural heritage and are organized under the leadership of the Aga Khan, who is considered the current imam. The Ismaili community is diverse, with members found in various countries around the world.
