Islamic Charity
Islamic charity, known as Zakat, is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It requires Muslims to give a portion of their wealth, typically 2.5% of their savings, to those in need. This practice promotes social welfare and helps reduce poverty within the community.
In addition to Zakat, Muslims can also engage in Sadaqah, which refers to voluntary charitable giving. Unlike Zakat, Sadaqah can be given at any time and in any amount. Both forms of charity emphasize compassion, generosity, and the importance of supporting those less fortunate in society.
