Ise-class Battleship
The Ise-class battleship was a class of battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy during the early 20th century. Two ships were completed: the Ise and the Hyūga. They were designed to engage enemy fleets and support naval operations, featuring a combination of heavy armor and powerful artillery.
These battleships underwent significant modifications during their service, particularly in World War II. The most notable change was the conversion of the Ise into a hybrid battleship-carrier, allowing it to launch aircraft. Despite their age, the Ise-class played a role in several naval battles, reflecting Japan's naval strategy during the war.
