Iron Chloride
Iron Chloride is a chemical compound made up of iron and chlorine, commonly found in two forms: ferric chloride (FeCl3) and ferrous chloride (FeCl2). It appears as a yellowish-brown solid or a dark brown solution when dissolved in water. Iron chloride is often used in water treatment processes, as it helps remove impurities and contaminants.
In addition to its role in water purification, iron chloride is also utilized in various industrial applications, such as in the production of pigments and as a catalyst in chemical reactions. It can be produced through the reaction of iron with chlorine gas or by dissolving iron oxide in hydrochloric acid.
