Iron Butt Association
The Iron Butt Association (IBA) is an organization dedicated to long-distance motorcycle riding. Founded in 1984, it promotes endurance riding by challenging motorcyclists to complete specific long-distance rides within set time limits. Participants can earn various certifications based on the distance and time they achieve.
To become a member, riders must document their trips and submit proof of their accomplishments. The IBA offers several challenges, including the famous Bun Burner and SaddleSore rides, which require completing 1,000 miles in 24 hours. The association fosters a community of passionate riders who share their experiences and tips for long-distance travel.
