Irbesartan
Irbesartan is a medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), which help relax blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood. This can lead to improved blood flow and reduced strain on the heart.
In addition to managing hypertension, Irbesartan may also be prescribed to protect the kidneys in patients with type 2 diabetes. It is usually taken once daily, with or without food, and should be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional to ensure safety and effectiveness.
