Iranian morality police
The Iranian morality police, officially known as the Guidance Patrol, are a law enforcement agency in Iran responsible for enforcing the country's strict dress codes and moral standards. They monitor public behavior, particularly focusing on issues related to modesty, such as the wearing of the hijab by women, and can issue warnings or fines for violations.
Established in the early 2000s, the morality police operate under the Islamic Republic's laws, which are based on Sharia principles. Their presence has sparked significant public debate and protests, especially regarding individual freedoms and women's rights in Iran.
