Iranian Green Movement
The Iranian Green Movement emerged in 2009 following the controversial presidential election in Iran, where many believed that Mir-Hossein Mousavi was denied victory due to widespread electoral fraud. Supporters of the movement, symbolized by the color green, protested against the government, demanding transparency and reform in the political system.
The movement gained significant attention both domestically and internationally, as millions took to the streets to voice their discontent. Despite facing a harsh crackdown from the government, the Green Movement highlighted issues of civil rights and political freedom, influencing future activism in Iran and beyond.
