Iranian Football League
The Iranian Football League, officially known as the Persian Gulf Pro League, is the top professional football league in Iran. Established in 2001, it features 16 teams competing annually for the championship. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Azadegan League, the second tier of Iranian football.
Matches are typically held from August to May, with each team playing 30 games in a round-robin format. The league is known for its passionate fan base and has produced many talented players who have gone on to represent Iran in international competitions.
