Ipsus
Ipsus was an ancient city located in Phrygia, in what is now modern-day Turkey. It is best known for the Battle of Ipsus, which took place in 301 BCE. This battle was a significant conflict during the Wars of the Diadochi, where the successors of Alexander the Great fought for control over his vast empire.
The Battle of Ipsus resulted in a decisive victory for the coalition led by Seleucus I Nicator and Lysimachus against the forces of Antigonus I Monophthalmus. Following the battle, the territory was divided among the victors, leading to the establishment of several Hellenistic kingdoms. Ipsus played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of the ancient world.
