Ioway
The Ioway are a Native American tribe originally from the region that is now Iowa and parts of Missouri and Nebraska. They are part of the larger Siouan language family and have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional practices, stories, and art. Historically, the Ioway were known for their agricultural skills, hunting, and trade.
Today, the Ioway people are recognized as a federally recognized tribe, known as the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. They continue to preserve their cultural identity while engaging in modern economic activities. The tribe works to promote education, cultural awareness, and community development for its members.
