Ion Beams
Ion beams are streams of charged particles, known as ions, that are accelerated to high speeds. These beams can be generated using devices called ion sources and are commonly used in various applications, including materials science, semiconductor manufacturing, and medical treatments.
When directed at a target, ion beams can modify the material's properties, implant ions into surfaces, or even destroy cancer cells in radiation therapy. Their precision and ability to penetrate materials make them valuable tools in both research and industry.
