International Tug of War Federation
The International Tug of War Federation (TWIF) is the global governing body for the sport of tug of war. Established in 1985, it aims to promote and develop the sport internationally, ensuring fair play and standardized rules. TWIF organizes competitions, including the World Tug of War Championships, and works to increase participation at all levels.
TWIF is responsible for the official rules and regulations of tug of war, which is a team sport where two teams pull on opposite ends of a rope. The federation also collaborates with national federations to support grassroots initiatives and enhance the sport's visibility worldwide.
