International Sanctions
International sanctions are measures imposed by countries or international organizations to influence the behavior of a specific nation or group. These sanctions can include trade restrictions, asset freezes, and travel bans, aimed at pressuring the targeted entity to change its policies or actions. They are often used in response to issues like human rights violations, military aggression, or nuclear proliferation.
Sanctions can be unilateral, imposed by one country, or multilateral, agreed upon by multiple nations. Examples include the United Nations sanctions against North Korea for its nuclear program and U.S. sanctions on Iran related to its nuclear activities.
