International Renewable Energy Agency
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization that promotes the adoption and sustainable use of renewable energy worldwide. Established in 2009, IRENA supports countries in their transition to renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and biomass, by providing policy advice, technical assistance, and capacity building.
IRENA also facilitates international cooperation and knowledge sharing among its member countries, which currently number over 160. By fostering innovation and investment in renewable energy technologies, IRENA aims to enhance energy security, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to sustainable development globally.
