International Ice Swimming Association
The International Ice Swimming Association (IISA) is an organization dedicated to promoting and regulating the sport of ice swimming. Founded in 2009, it sets the rules and standards for ice swimming events, ensuring safety and fairness for participants. The IISA also organizes competitions and provides guidelines for swimmers who wish to take part in this extreme sport.
Ice swimming involves swimming in water temperatures below 5°C (41°F) and is often done in natural bodies of water, such as lakes and rivers. The IISA aims to foster a global community of ice swimmers, encouraging participation and raising awareness about the benefits of cold-water swimming for health and well-being.
