Inter-Korean Relations
Inter-Korean relations refer to the political, economic, and social interactions between the two Koreas, North Korea and South Korea. These relations have been marked by periods of tension and conflict, particularly since the Korean War in the early 1950s, which ended in an armistice but not a formal peace treaty.
Efforts to improve relations have included diplomatic talks, family reunions, and economic cooperation initiatives. However, issues such as nuclear weapons development in North Korea and military confrontations have often strained these interactions, making the relationship complex and dynamic.
