Integrated Guided Missile Development Program
The Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) is an initiative launched by the Government of India in 1983 to develop a range of indigenous missile systems. The program aimed to enhance India's defense capabilities by creating various types of missiles, including surface-to-surface, surface-to-air, and air-to-air missiles.
Key missiles developed under the IGMDP include the Agni, Prithvi, and Akash. The program has significantly contributed to India's self-reliance in defense technology and has played a crucial role in strengthening national security. It is managed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
