Information Density
Information density refers to the amount of information conveyed in a given space or time. It measures how much meaningful content is packed into a specific medium, such as text, speech, or visual data. High information density means that a lot of information is presented concisely, while low information density indicates more filler or less relevant content.
In communication, achieving the right balance of information density is crucial. For example, in writing, a dense paragraph may convey complex ideas quickly, but it can also overwhelm readers. Conversely, a less dense paragraph may be easier to understand but could take longer to get to the point.
