Influenza C Virus
Influenza C virus is one of the three main types of influenza viruses, alongside Influenza A and Influenza B. It primarily causes mild respiratory illness and is less common than the other types. Unlike Influenza A, which can lead to severe outbreaks, Influenza C typically results in localized infections and does not cause pandemics.
The virus is transmitted through respiratory droplets and can infect humans and some animals. Symptoms of an Influenza C infection may include cough, fever, and sore throat, but they are usually less severe than those caused by Influenza A or Influenza B. Vaccines for Influenza C are not widely available.
