Infantry Brigade Combat Team
An Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) is a modular unit in the United States Army designed for ground combat operations. It typically consists of around 3,500 to 4,000 soldiers and is organized to conduct a variety of missions, including offensive and defensive operations. The IBCT is equipped with infantry, artillery, and support elements, allowing it to operate effectively in diverse environments.
The IBCT is part of the larger Brigade Combat Team (BCT) structure, which includes other types such as Armored BCTs and Stryker BCTs. Each type is tailored for specific combat roles, but all share a common goal of rapid deployment and versatility in the field.
