Indirect Realism
Indirect Realism is a philosophical theory that suggests we do not perceive the world directly. Instead, we experience it through our senses, which provide us with representations or mental images of external objects. This means that our understanding of reality is mediated by our sensory experiences.
According to Indirect Realism, the objects we perceive, such as trees or cars, exist independently of our perception, but we can only know them through our sensory input. This theory contrasts with Direct Realism, which posits that we perceive the world directly as it is, without any intermediary representations.
