Indian peafowls
The Indian peafowl, also known as the peacock, is a large bird native to the Indian subcontinent. Males are famous for their vibrant plumage, featuring iridescent blue and green feathers, and a long tail adorned with eye-like patterns. These tail feathers, or "train," are displayed during courtship rituals to attract females.
Females, called peahens, are less colorful, sporting brown and gray feathers for camouflage. Indian peafowls are omnivorous, feeding on seeds, insects, and small animals. They are often found in forests, grasslands, and near human settlements, where they are known for their loud calls and striking appearance.
