Indian gaur
The Indian gaur, also known as the Indian bison, is a large herbivorous mammal native to the forests of the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by its muscular build, long horns, and a distinctive hump on its shoulders. Adult males can weigh up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs) and stand about 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall at the shoulder.
These animals are primarily found in grasslands and forests, where they graze on grasses, leaves, and shrubs. The Indian gaur is a social animal, often seen in small herds, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem by helping to control vegetation growth.
