Indian Peafowl
The Indian Peafowl, also known as the peacock, is a large bird native to the Indian subcontinent. Males are famous for their vibrant plumage, featuring iridescent blue and green feathers, and a long tail adorned with eye-like patterns. These tail feathers, or "train," can be fanned out during courtship displays to attract females.
Females, called peahens, are less colorful, sporting a more subdued brown and gray plumage that provides camouflage. Indian Peafowls are omnivorous, feeding on seeds, insects, and small animals. They are often found in forests, grasslands, and near human settlements, where they are known for their loud calls and striking appearance.
