Indian Nursing Council
The Indian Nursing Council (INC) is a regulatory body established in 1947 to oversee the nursing profession in India. Its primary role is to set standards for nursing education and practice, ensuring that nurses are well-trained and competent to provide quality healthcare. The INC also maintains a register of qualified nurses and midwives, promoting professional accountability.
The council works to enhance the nursing profession by developing policies, conducting examinations, and accrediting nursing institutions across the country. By doing so, the Indian Nursing Council aims to improve healthcare delivery and ensure that nursing services meet the needs of the population.
