Imperial Airways
Imperial Airways was a British airline founded in 1924, primarily to provide international air services. It was the first airline to operate scheduled flights between the United Kingdom and various destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The airline played a significant role in the development of commercial aviation during the interwar period.
In 1939, Imperial Airways merged with British Airways Ltd to form British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). This merger aimed to enhance the efficiency and reach of British air travel. Imperial Airways is remembered for its pioneering efforts in long-distance air travel and its contributions to the aviation industry.
