Impeachment
Impeachment is a formal process used to accuse a government official, such as the President, of misconduct. It typically involves the legislative body, like the U.S. Congress, investigating allegations and deciding whether to bring charges. If a majority in the House of Representatives votes for impeachment, the official is then tried in the Senate.
If the Senate finds the official guilty by a two-thirds majority vote, they can be removed from office. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal; it is essentially a political process to hold officials accountable for actions deemed inappropriate or unlawful while in office.
