Illinois House
The Illinois House, officially known as the Illinois House of Representatives, is the lower chamber of the Illinois General Assembly. It consists of 118 members who are elected to serve two-year terms. The House is responsible for proposing and voting on state laws, as well as representing the interests of their constituents in Illinois.
Each member of the Illinois House represents a specific district within the state. The House works alongside the upper chamber, the Illinois Senate, to create and amend legislation. The Speaker of the House leads the chamber, guiding discussions and managing legislative priorities.
