Iddah
Iddah is a waiting period that a Muslim woman must observe after the end of her marriage, whether due to divorce or the death of her husband. This period typically lasts for three menstrual cycles or, if the woman is pregnant, until the child is born. The purpose of Iddah is to ensure that there is no confusion regarding paternity and to allow the woman time to grieve and reflect on her situation.
During Iddah, a woman is expected to remain in her home and refrain from remarrying. This period serves as a time for emotional healing and spiritual reflection. It also provides an opportunity for reconciliation in the case of divorce, as the couple may reconsider their decision during this time.
