Ida Noddack
Ida Noddack was a German chemist born on February 25, 1896. She is best known for her work in nuclear chemistry and for being one of the first to propose the idea of nuclear fission in 1934. Noddack, along with her husband, discovered the element rhenium and contributed to the understanding of radioactive isotopes.
In addition to her scientific achievements, Noddack was a pioneer for women in science during a time when the field was predominantly male. She faced challenges in her career but continued to advocate for women's participation in scientific research and education throughout her life.
