Ice Formation
Ice formation occurs when water freezes, transitioning from a liquid state to a solid state. This process typically happens when temperatures drop below 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). As the temperature decreases, the molecules in the water slow down and begin to arrange themselves into a structured, crystalline form, resulting in ice.
There are different types of ice formation, including frost, ice sheets, and sea ice. Frost forms when water vapor in the air condenses and freezes on surfaces. Ice sheets are large masses of glacial ice that cover land, while sea ice forms on the surface of oceans and lakes when the water temperature drops.
