Ian Campbell, 5th Duke of Argyll
Ian Campbell, 5th Duke of Argyll (born 1937) was a Scottish nobleman and politician. He became the Duke in 1973 after the death of his father, Ian Campbell, 4th Duke of Argyll. The 5th Duke was known for his involvement in various charitable organizations and his efforts to preserve the heritage of the Argyll region.
Educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford, the Duke served in the British Army before entering public life. He held several positions, including serving as a member of the House of Lords. The 5th Duke was also involved in the management of the family estate, Inveraray Castle.
