ILOVEYOU
The "ILOVEYOU" virus, also known as the Love Bug, was a computer worm that spread through email in May 2000. It was disguised as a love letter, enticing users to open an attachment labeled "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.txt.vbs." Once opened, it infected the user's system and sent copies of itself to all contacts in the user's email address book.
The worm caused significant damage, affecting millions of computers worldwide and leading to an estimated $10 billion in losses. It exploited vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Windows operating system and highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness and email safety practices.
