IED
An IED, or Improvised Explosive Device, is a type of explosive weapon that is often made from readily available materials. These devices can be constructed using various components, such as explosives, shrapnel, and triggering mechanisms. IEDs are commonly used in asymmetric warfare, where non-state actors or insurgents employ them against military forces or civilians.
IEDs can be hidden in various locations, including vehicles, roadside areas, or even everyday objects, making them difficult to detect. Their unpredictable nature poses significant challenges for security forces, leading to increased efforts in detection and neutralization to protect both military personnel and civilians from harm.
