IC 348
IC 348 is a young open star cluster located in the constellation Perseus. It is approximately 3 million years old and is situated about 1,000 light-years away from Earth. The cluster contains around 100 stars, many of which are still in the process of forming.
The stars in IC 348 are primarily composed of low-mass and intermediate-mass stars, with some being very similar to our Sun. The cluster is surrounded by a molecular cloud, which provides the material necessary for star formation, making it an interesting area for astronomers studying stellar evolution.
