IC 3005
IC 3005 is a bright planetary nebula located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is approximately 6,500 light-years away from Earth and is known for its striking appearance, which resembles a glowing shell surrounding a dying star.
The nebula is formed from the outer layers of a star that has shed its material during the late stages of its life cycle. As the star's core contracts and heats up, it emits intense ultraviolet radiation, causing the surrounding gas to ionize and emit light, creating the colorful display seen in IC 3005.
