IC 2168
IC 2168 is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Monoceros, which is also known as the Unicorn. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834. This cluster is relatively young, with an estimated age of about 100 million years, and it contains several bright stars that are easily visible through small telescopes.
The cluster is situated approximately 4,500 light-years away from Earth. IC 2168 is part of a larger group of stars that share a common origin, making it an interesting subject for studying stellar formation and evolution. Its position in the sky makes it a popular target for amateur astronomers.
