I liga
The I liga is the second tier of professional football in Poland. It operates below the top division, known as Ekstraklasa, and features clubs that compete for promotion to the higher league. The league typically consists of 18 teams, and the season runs from August to May, with each team playing 34 matches.
Teams in the I liga earn points through wins and draws, with the top teams at the end of the season gaining promotion. The bottom teams face relegation to the third tier, known as II liga. The league is an important part of the Polish football pyramid, showcasing emerging talent.
