Hyphenation
Hyphenation is the practice of connecting two or more words with a hyphen (-) to create a single term or to clarify meaning. It is commonly used in compound adjectives, such as “well-known author” or “high-quality product,” where the hyphen helps to indicate that the words work together to modify a noun.
In addition to compound adjectives, hyphenation can also be used to break words at the end of a line in written text. This helps maintain the flow of reading and ensures that words are not awkwardly split. Proper hyphenation improves clarity and readability in writing.
