Hyles Lineata
Hyles lineata, commonly known as the white-lined sphinx moth, is a species of moth found in North America. It is easily recognizable by its distinctive white and dark brown stripes running along its body and wings. This moth is primarily active during the night and is attracted to flowers, making it an important pollinator.
The larvae of Hyles lineata, known as hornworms, feed on a variety of plants, including those in the Solanaceae family, such as tomatoes and tobacco. Adult moths have a wingspan of about 3 to 4 inches and are known for their rapid, hummingbird-like flight.
