Hyla Cinerea
Hyla cinerea, commonly known as the green tree frog, is a small amphibian native to the southeastern United States. It typically measures about 2 to 3 inches in length and is easily recognized by its bright green color and distinctive white or yellow stripe along its sides. These frogs are often found in wetlands, swamps, and near ponds, where they thrive in warm, humid environments.
The green tree frog is primarily nocturnal, becoming active at night to hunt for insects and other small invertebrates. They are excellent climbers, using their adhesive toe pads to navigate trees and shrubs. During the breeding season, males produce a loud, distinctive call to attract females, contributing to the characteristic sounds of their natural habitats.
