Hussite movement
The Hussite movement was a religious reform movement in the early 15th century in what is now the Czech Republic. It emerged from the teachings of Jan Hus, a priest and philosopher who criticized the Catholic Church's practices, advocating for reforms such as the use of the Czech language in services and communion in both kinds (bread and wine) for laypeople.
The movement led to a series of conflicts known as the Hussite Wars (1419-1434), where Hussites fought against the Catholic forces. The movement significantly influenced the later Protestant Reformation and contributed to the development of Czech national identity.
